Moseley Ashfield U9 'A' team won a 'round robin' tournament at the graveyard. They recorded wins over Moseley Ashfield U9 'B' team and Weoley Hill U9s. Weoley Hill were runners-up.
In the final contest, where the winners would take all, Weoley Hill batted well, before losing 4 quick wickets to have their score limited to 213. Ashfield managed to score 228, with the last 2 batsmen holding out nicely to ensure victory.
Parents sat in the sunshine enjoying bacon sandwiches and enjoying the cricket, and a good time was had by all. In total 27 young cricketers enjoyed the competition, with the youngest playing being just 4 years old. He is certainly one to watch for the future, with his batting and bowling not looking out of place in U9s cricket.
